STUDENTS
We are excited to announce that, AfricaBio, in partnership with our stakeholders, is offering to sponsor a selected number of students for the BIO Africa Convention, taking place from the 1st-6th of September 2023, at the Durban ICC in South Africa.
The selected students will get an opportunity to attend the pre-convention taking place on the 2nd and 3rd of September, as well as the convention which will be happening on the 4th to the 6th of September.
ELIGIBILITY:

Must be a Masters or PhD student.

Must be currently enrolled in a Life Sciences and/or Related programs at your institution.

Must be willing to travel to Durban for the BIO Africa Convention.

INNOVATION
COMPETTION
The 2023 BIO Africa Convention invites you to apply for the BIO Africa Innovation Prize competition. The prize money of $5000.00 (to be paid into your student account) will be won by a student with the most innovative idea/project used to solve a societal problem in their community.
To apply for the BIO Africa Innovation Prize competition, please submit an abstract of not more than 250 words presenting an innovation that you are currently developing.
This should be in alignment with the 2023 BIO Africa Convention theme “Re-imagining Biotechnology Innovation for Africa's Development and Security”. The idea/project will be judged by an expert panel of judges and follow a formatted criteria.
The abstract should detail:

The problem that you want to solve
-
The solution (to the problem – that is your innovation)
-
The impact that the Innovation will have and its market
Eligibility Criteria for Prize:
• Must be a Masters or PhD Students
• Students must be a postgraduate student in a Life Sciences field
• Must be registered at an African University/ Institute of Higher Education
• Must be willing and available to travel to Durban, South Africa on the following dates: 1st - 6th September 2023
